Random Musing

We discussed the whole idea of whether knowledge and experience leads to a greater aesthetic experience, or what exactly it does to help us.  We started off by talking about an initial aesthetic experience at a point where we were ignorant that drove us and motivated us to learn more and more about that which caused our experienced.  The question at hand is whether the knowledge that we thus obtain leads to greater and greater experiences.

Well, in that regard, any experiences that we have after that initial one will only be one that we relate to back to that first experience.  As we gain knowledge and have more experiences, we will find it better and better from the new knowledge by relating it back to how we felt at the very beginning.  It all depends on the initial experience.  In some cases, knowledge my change our experience.  It may cause a positive effect, a negative effect, or may have no effect whatsoever; ultimately, it is what we do with the knowledge that is given to us that determines how it affects us, as we discussed in class.  But, in the end, it  is all based upon that initial feeling that we got from our first aesthetic experience in that situation.
