So, ultimately, where does art based on nature stand?
Simply, it is art. A painting of a river is just that: a painting. It is not a river itself, and is a limited representation of said river. A picture of a river will give you a different experience than the actual river itself. As has been stated before, art is one thing, nature is another. While basing art off of nature is not wrong or far fetched in any way, it is wrong to say that nature is a work of art, but art based on nature is perfectly acceptable. The important thing to remember is not to blend the two too closely together, for that will just lead to a mushed interpretation and much debate that will really never reach a decisive end.
As long as being are able to differentiate between art and nature, and not try to call one the other, then life can continue to go on undisturbed.
